Tuesday poem: Fall Geese by Ingrid Horrocks

New Jersey, 2004

Each bird
in passing
catches sun
on its wings.

The day
seems brighter
warmer

as in paintings
of hunting scenes
where birds
are most beautiful
the pulsing moment
before they fall.
