Tuesday Poem: an paistin fionn by Bernadette Hall

song title: the fair-headed child

it is just as she told you

we were a body
of swift fine-headed young men

we were trying to climb the glass bridge
back to the beautiful island

but we kept on falling down

imagine our delight
when we lifted our eyes up and saw you

swimming towards us across the lagoon
