Book review: The Life Cycle of the Tuatara by Betty Brownlie

Kingston (age 4) has a very keen interest in animals so this book is definitely up his alley.

The book details not only the life cycle of Tuataras but also their natural habitat and an in depth description of how they look and feel. The language was very easy for Kingston to understand, and the large full colour pictures did very well to supplement the story.

Large headings were useful when Kingston wanted to return back to a certain subject – ‘What Tuatara look like’ was re-read numerous times! The information flows from page to page well, and we liked that large ‘facts’ dispersed through out the book.

We both very much enjoyed this informative read and no doubt, we will both recall information when we next visit the zoo.

From Kingston – ‘This is a very good book, I love the pictures and I love Tuataras’.
